2009 is coming weather you want it to or not. Whats your resolution for next year? I have one for myself... ride MORE. That's easy so I will spice it up, and say "I want to ride faster and longer, but more importantly keep the joy that I get from riding my bike so that the sport is still in my life years down the rode." 2009 will be a big year for me on many levels, so I hope they mesh well with one another, and I won't know how it will all play out until May like two weeks before Iola.
On a purely cycling note waiting to hear back from a acceptance to a new sponsor with all the details, but more on all that when I know for sure that I have got them on board for next year.

Winter...Love
You have to love winter. It's cold and there is snow...that's about it.
I got in my first ride since iceman today. it was nice I wish I had a camera because I was missing some prime pictures from the Winona area. I loved being on the bike today it was like the first ride on dirt that you get of the season.
My agenda for this winter is simple ride, work out, run, ski and board when I need something different. My diet will be addressed along with a diet on my bike. Looking to get that down in weight and myself down also. I feel both are important and the diet for myself will be easier then the bike believe it or not. Learn not to over indulge on the wrong food or any food for that matter, and make healthier food choices...less Beer, that's the hard one.

Last race of the Season...last win in sport
Well, the weekend was a success. First in my age and fastest sport racer. The guys from Wisconsin were fast in all there classes. Aristotle was forth in his first expert race, three or four guys in the top ten in pro, don did well with a forth I believe and a hand full of other.
My races was more of a mind game. I was about forth wheel off the line and by the time I crossed the road thats near the start, I had a gap that only grew. A little scared, to hard on the start and a bonk at the end, or was I just that ready for the race. It turned out OK. I keep the wheels spinning and ended the race with a 8.5 minute gap on second. The course was fast.
I have to give thanks to many people for the season and this race. Mom and dad putting up with my schedule and helping me through the season, spring street sport for getting me setup on my 29er and getting me my 09 frame in a time of great need (one week before the iceman), and Ian Standford for the great set of wheels that I rode for iceman. Watch for these wheels for next year if they come out to the market. No, pics yet but they should come.

No luck
The banquet had no big excitement for me, I didn't win anything, but I ate some great food. Had a good ride at standing rocks, but one of the guys pointed out that my frame was cracked! I'm not sure how I have missed it but I did. So, I will be getting on the horn Monday to see if I can't get my hands on the a new frame or bike before iceman. That should make for a interesting race on top of all the other factors of the race.

So much to come
Study, Ride, Study, Drive, Ride, Study...Repeat. I like school when my professor's think about me and not themselves. That's funny! I had intended to ride tonight but school took the time tonight. Plus, bike club meeting, so ride tomorrow maybe longer then I was expecting. Iceman is coming no time to be lacking on miles. The trails in Winona are getting leafy which makes for fun. A little more technical and unpredictable. I hope the rain stays away.

Good friends
Well, i went back to Chippewa this weekend to ride and eat better food then my normal at school. oh, and got put back into reality again. My Friends are good at that. As always the best way to screw up any training is to go out, that's what i did, but whatever. The car is going to get a look at before my dad and I run off to Michigan, and then probably time to saddle up for an easy ride, but Nate was talking about fishing that might be good also. He just got a new pup, wish i had a pic because that thing is cute.

I said I wouldn't do this
I said I wouldn't do this until I was going to go to Expert. So, I guess I made my decision on the 45 mile ride today. You have a lot of time to think when you have no music on your ride. I will race my last sport/comp level race at the Iceman. Now, all I have to do is train for that, and I think I will call my first full season over for good.
